My wife Crystal and I live in northern Mississippi .We are only 1.5 hr south of Memphis TN and 1.5 hr north of Jackson MS. We will work with all breeds of gaited horses and their riders to teach them how to find and develop their horse's innate gait. Crystal and I are both Certified Gaits of Gold Training Partners, and have 13 years of horse training experience. We love to trail ride and camp with our horses whenever we can.  Here at WBG, we have started quite a few young colts from the ground up, and retrained many older horses using Brenda Imus's training methods  - so we know they really work.  Eight years age when we got our first gaited horses it was trial by fire, and was difficult to find reliable information anywhere. Then we found Brenda's book "Gaits of Gold." It clarified the assorted misinformation that we were being fed, and gave an easy route to success. We now are very pleased to be working with Brenda Imus and Gaits of Gold  helping others find the joy of understanding gaited horses, and teaching them how to bring out the horse’s best natural abilities.

Methods:

We truly believe that for any horse to perform to its full potential he must be started right on the ground, then outfitted with comfortable, well fitting tack including a saddle that places the rider in an optimally balanced, comfortable position. This is why we prefer the Imus 4-beat Saddle and the Imus Comfort bits. We use only Natural Horsemanship methods, and believe in natural hoof angles and shoeing practices. The intermediate gaits are all developed from what the French refer to as the "The Mother of all Gaits," which is the walk. This is where we begin training all gaited horses, using simple techniques that build on a solid foundation. Those people we work with learn essential techniques for developing and maintaining their horses’ gait in such a way that the rider is comfortable, and the horse stays sound for many long years.

Services:

We give lessons for individual riders and small groups, either for individuals by the hour, or in a mini clinic situation. We also do saddle fitting, gait analysis, and conformation evaluations.  We have hands-on Imus 4-beat saddle demos and Imus Comfort Bits.
